Meet the delightful Poppy. Every Wednesday, Moseley Hive in Birmingham runs a drop-in supporting local people in need. Poppy, a ten-year-old cocker spaniel, sits patiently and adorably for three hours while people drop by for a friendly chat, a hot drink, some help with benefits, housing, and other such concerns, or simply to sit in a warm and safe space for a bit.
The drop-in is run by Anji, our Community Outreach Worker, as part of our Moseley Alternative Giving Campaign (MAGC).
Anji offers sanctuary and support to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming so.
The Drop-In also hosts other support services, including the local women’s charity, Anawim and the local refugee programme, Moseley for Ukraine.
The Drop-In runs from 11am until 2.00pm every Wednesday, and Poppy gets a LOT of fuss during those three hours!
