Some of what we got up to last year...

Are you passionate about leading a community organisation and driving sustainable, impactful change?

Can you inspire and manage a diverse team of staff  and volunteers to achieve collective goals in a dynamic, inclusive environment?

Then we’re looking for you to lead Moseley Community Development Trust

About Moseley Community Development Trust (Moseley CDT)

Moseley CDT is a platform created to help the people of the community thrive, socially, economically and creatively.

We own and operate two key buildings in central Moseley: the Moseley Exchange and the Moseley Hive. The Moseley Exchange is the core of our income, offering co-working spaces, office rentals, room hire, and hosting the Post Office. The Moseley Hive, which we took into community ownership last year, is a high street community space mainly used for a wide range of community activities, social and creative.

Moseley CDT plays a crucial role in the community by providing support to local people experiencing or at risk of homelessness through our Neighbourhood Outreach Worker and the Moseley Alternative Giving Campaign.

Besides that we do a lot more:

Our Community Connector organises a variety of community events and activities, supporting individuals in finding volunteering opportunities. They run a newsletter for all the wonderful things happening in the neighbourhood.

We also help to nurture local enterprise and community action, organise arts markets and community celebrations, support existing charities, social enterprises, and active citizens. We work with local residents, businesses, and stakeholders to create a thriving, vibrant Moseley that people enjoy as a place to live, work, and visit.  We play a part in shaping the strategic development of Moseley through supporting the Moseley Regeneration Group, help deliver support to people in the community and have hosted Moseley for Ukraine.

The Moseley Hive building is likely to undergo some major building work to help with it’s long term sustainablity, that will involve substantial project work.

Moseley CDT was established as a charity in 2001 by the Moseley Society and Moseley Forum.

Our New Chief Executive

The Chief Executive Officer will lead Moseley Community Development Trust (CDT) into an exciting new phase as we develop and grows our asset base: two buildings, a committed core team, and wider community of active citizens and volunteers.

They will develop a refreshed strategy for the charity focused on organisational sustainability, social impact, and climate resilience, and use their energy and profile to bring the wider communities around Moseley into that process.

The Chief Executive Officer will develop the organisation’s operating model to include its newest building ‘The Hive’: a flexible space which enables a wider set of people to organise around creativity, solidarity, and other shared endeavour. They will also inherit a community vision for the space and deliver a capital programme to update it in line with that vision.
